Underpinning the call for 'clear messages' is often a dated (back to the Enlightenment!) view of language as a representation of an immutable world of matter that is there 'to be observed'. This view still dominates mainstream Anglo-American management theory and practice. The universe may be made of matter (and anti-matter) but we humans live in worlds of siginifiance, of 'what matters'.
