How true! I get my best ideas when I rub two frameworks together. As Donald Schon said, you have to push your metaphors hard until they "break" and then you "heal" them with the addition of another framework and then they get productive. Combining Canadian ecologist C.S. Holling's adaptive cycle with Jeffrey Pfeffer's three types of action produced the ecocycle, a really useful frameworj for looking at change in human systems.
